Melbourne Pathology Frontline Healthcare Workers
When we think of frontline healthcare workers, we generally picture doctors and nurses who really do a fantastic job. But there are some other important people dressed in gloves, gowns, masks and face shields. We want to recognise the crucial work of the dedicated teams at Melbourne Pathology – who are collecting and processing COVID-19 tests for thousands of patients across our state.
The testing teams at Melbourne Pathology are bravely heading out into our communities, and in particular aged care facilities, to assist with testing to ensure our friends, family and community members are safe. They are making great sacrifices and with thousands of COVID swabs collected every day, they are working harder than ever.
The hours have been long and the work relentless, but these teams of amazing people have the perfect combination of expertise, care, compassion and efficiency as they test the residents and staff at each aged care facility. They get on with the job without fanfare or complaint. They treat every patient as an individual with warmth, kindness and the attention they deserve, and we wanted to find a special way to thank them.
What we're doing
Care Packages For COVID Testing Teams
As a printing company, unfortunately we can’t jump in and help out on the frontline, but we can help by supporting the testing teams when they’re not on the job. These people are travelling all over Melbourne, working long hours, and isolating from their family and friends. They’re on their feet all day, changing gloves and sanitising after every patient they come into contact with. That can result in dry, sore hands.
Proceeds from the sale of our food packaging seals will go directly toward creating care packages for these dedicated testing teams. These packages will include luxury care and comfort items (including much needed hand cream!) We want them to have something special after a hard day of work. They are local, just as we are and we salute these every day heroes.

Australian Venue Co (AVC) is a world-class hospitality group that has grown rapidly to include more 150 venues. They are passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences across a national portfolio of restaurants, bars, pubs and dedicated event spaces.
COVID-19 has had an incredible impact across the hospitality industry, especially in Victoria, and as such AVC have had to think on their feet and quickly switch to providing delivery-only food services for many of their venues.
AVC are using our labels to package their staff meals, which is part of their Meals For Hospo Mates initiative. This originally started as a company initiative to help staff members in need of a free nourishing meal during these unprecedented times. This has since been extended to the wider hospitality community, whether an out of work barista, bartender or muso, Australian Venue Co. is supporting those in need of a feed with $3 takeaway meals.
Every Wednesday, over 4,000 meals are safely prepared and distributed by our staff to those in need.
How AVC are using our product
Staff meals with a difference
With safety top of mind, we helped AVC create a customised food packaging label to go with their deliveries. These labels are uniquely designed - they feature the company logo and colours, as well as QR code that when it is scanned shows an interactive video message from the Head Chef. They also feature a link to a Spotify playlist which matches the theme of the food delivery for that week.
AVC take health and safety very seriously, and these labels will help contribute to their safety procedures, ensuring each meal is packaged securely and cannot be tampered with. In addition to contactless ordering, payments and deliveries, this is another small way that together we are helping to keep the community safe (and fed!)
